Goal Setting: Resolution vs Goals

In recent years the popularity of making new year resolutions has gone down. But the appeal of having a new year full of opportunities has remained.

A resolution is a firm decision to do or not do something, where as a goal is an end state we are trying to achieve. This simple but important distinction can easily lead someone on the path of success or failure.

For example: your goal would be to lose 5 lbs and your resolution would be to stop eating dessert on weekdays.

The first thing we want to know is what is your goal. Every Wonderlander has answered this question, some more than once as you hopefully move from one goal to the next. We cannot help you if we do not know what you want to achieve.

What SERVICES do we offer?


Our CrossFit, Health and Specialty class are designed to help you increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domain, i.e. BE FITTER & HEALTHIER. But what if your goal is to run a half marathon next fall. Every class we can tailor the workout to help you achieve that goal.


We also offer Private Training. This allows you to choose your own journey and the time / day that is most convenient for you. We can better adjust the programming to suit your needs: slower progression, post injury with extra focus on rehab and/ or prehab, underlying health issues, the convenience of dictating the when, etc.


We also offer video analysis. We recommend a few months of CrossFit under your belt before doing this type of One on One. The goal is to help you progress with one particular movement. Seeing is believing and while we give visual cues during regular classes, seeing yourself go through the motion is a great way to break through plateaus when it comes to mastering gymnastics or weightlifting technique.


A car with no gas won’t go anywhere, which is why we also offer nutritional services. We do seminars, run challenges and do monthly consultation to help you get the visible results most people want when talking about “being fit”. Meal prepping can be a hassle, which is why we have teamed up with Buddha Station to provide meals that follow CrossFit's nutritional protocol. While this is not the end all be all of nutrition it is the best way to start making sense of what will be the best solution for you.
